Who Roasts Devil's Head Coffee

Devil's Head Coffee is roasted by Chris and Tanis in Calgary. Chris is the founder and head roaster ā€” a former environmental consultant who turned a rock-climbing injury into a roasting obsession. He brings a scientific approach to roast profiling and handles everything from green coffee sourcing to roasting, customer service, and running the mobile cafe. Tanis manages the books and events while juggling a full-time HR career. Together they built Devil's Head Coffee from a home experiment (starting with a popcorn popper in their Bowness laundry room) into a dedicated roastery and cafe in Calgary's Foothills Industrial Park. Every batch is hand-roasted by Chris on a 5 kg machine, two to three times per week.
