Devil's Head Coffee is unique for several reasons:
Named after a mountain — Devil's Head Mountain in the Ghost River Wilderness, west of Calgary. Every blend is named after a climb or route.
Founded by adventurers — Chris, a former environmental consultant and rock climber, started roasting after an injury. Tanis inspired him to pursue it professionally.
Small-batch micro-roaster — Every batch on a 5 kg machine, 2-3 times per week. Started in a Bowness laundry room with a popcorn popper.
East Coast roasting style — Balanced acidity with an explosion of flavour. Different from the darker West Coast style.
Every bag tells a story — The label on every bag features a photo taken during Chris and Tanis's adventures, connecting each roast to the place that inspired it.
Charity blend — Dirt Nap supports the Moose Mountain Bike Trail Society (MMBTS).
Genuine, not marketing — The outdoor theme isn't manufactured. They are outdoor people who roast coffee for other outdoor people.
